Girly Baby Bonnet Free Pattern
Free Pattern updated...
Girly Knit Baby Bonnet
This is a new pattern so please let me know if you find any bugs in it, although I think/hope it is quite easy to follow!
Size: 0-6 months
Yarn: Worsted weight
Needles: Size 5 U.S.-you need a flexible cable 16 , 20 or 24 inch circular needle for this project
Ribbon: ¼ inch grosgrain about ½ yards
Cast on 14 stitches.
Row 1-16: Knit
Row 17 and 18: Knit 1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1 B/O all stitches.
Look for the tail where you started the cast on of the first 14 stitches. Start at this point and pick up stitches around the edge of the piece (approximately 38 sts.) leaving the first 14 original stitches unworked. (These 14 stitches are the base of the neck at the back of the bonnet-don’t pick up sts. on these stitches.) You are NOT working in the round-you are working back and forth in rows.
The stitches will be a bit snug on the needle don’t worry about that.
Begin working ruffled brim of bonnet.
Rows 1&2: knit
Row 3 : *K1, yo, k1* repeat from * to end (eyelet row)
Rows 4-8: knit
Row 9: repeat eyelet row 3
Rows 10-14: knit
Row 15: *K1, yo, k2tog* repeat from * to end
Rows 16-20: knit
Bind off.
Finishing: Thread ribbon through eyelets in row 15. Trim ribbon ties to desired length.

Wildflower Jacket/Shawl
I loved knitting this pattern. It is a modular knit done in triangles. The pattern offers a short and a long version. The designer is Margaret Fisher. I selected a yarn with a gradual color change to accentuate the directional changes in the design.

baby things!
I am making baby sweaters in different sizes and different colors. This bright red one is the first to be completed. I love this pattern which has a zipper up the back that makes it easy to put on the baby.
