Girly Baby Bonnet Free Pattern
Free Pattern updated...
Girly Knit Baby Bonnet
This is a new pattern so please let me know if you find any bugs in it, although I think/hope it is quite easy to follow!
Size: 0-6 months
Yarn: Worsted weight
Needles: Size 5 U.S.-you need a flexible cable 16 , 20 or 24 inch circular needle for this project
Ribbon: ¼ inch grosgrain about ½ yards
Cast on 14 stitches.
Row 1-16: Knit
Row 17 and 18: Knit 1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1 B/O all stitches.
Look for the tail where you started the cast on of the first 14 stitches. Start at this point and pick up stitches around the edge of the piece (approximately 38 sts.) leaving the first 14 original stitches unworked. (These 14 stitches are the base of the neck at the back of the bonnet-don’t pick up sts. on these stitches.) You are NOT working in the round-you are working back and forth in rows.
The stitches will be a bit snug on the needle don’t worry about that.
Begin working ruffled brim of bonnet.
Rows 1&2: knit
Row 3 : *K1, yo, k1* repeat from * to end (eyelet row)
Rows 4-8: knit
Row 9: repeat eyelet row 3
Rows 10-14: knit
Row 15: *K1, yo, k2tog* repeat from * to end
Rows 16-20: knit
Bind off.
Finishing: Thread ribbon through eyelets in row 15. Trim ribbon ties to desired length.

Wildflower Jacket/Shawl
I loved knitting this pattern. It is a modular knit done in triangles. The pattern offers a short and a long version. The designer is Margaret Fisher. I selected a yarn with a gradual color change to accentuate the directional changes in the design.

baby things!
I am making baby sweaters in different sizes and different colors. This bright red one is the first to be completed. I love this pattern which has a zipper up the back that makes it easy to put on the baby.

Sock Crazy
I have been knitting socks like crazy this summer. It has been far too hot to knit big projects and we have been traveling a lot, so socks are the perfect project. I have also been working on my charity knitting and a bit of sewing and quilting.
Unfortunately, my pain issues don't allow me to do as much as I would like, but I enjoy what I can.
Can't wait for Fall!

Knitting and Quilting and Embroidery Oh My!
I have been knitting and quilting recently. It has been so fun to get back into quilting again. Variety is the spice of life. I am also doing a bit of embroidery.I began with a quilt for my grand daughter.
It is basted and ready to be machine quilted. I am working on a sweater for Evelyn as well, after I just finished making her a bright pink cardigan and a hat.
I can't help but spoil that girl lol!
I also did a pair of peek-a-boo mittens for my daughter.

The Summer of Socks
I recently finished a pair of Malabrigo socks. Just love this yarn. It is a joy.
Also did a pair in Mini Mochi yarn. Loved the colorways...hated the yarn! Splitty and uneven and 3 knots in one skein!! Not good.
(The Malabrigo is in the burgandy shades and the Mini Mochi is in teals).
Now I am on an adventure trying to teach myself to do two magic loop socks at one time, toe up! Yikes!

UFO's Eeeeek!
Well kids, it is time to face it. I am the worst/or best ufo (unfinished objects) collector in America!!! Not only do I have a million unfinished knitted objects, but I have just as many projects of other types in various stages of completion! Everything from jewelry pieces, to scrap-booking, needlework, paintings and who knows what else!
It comes from my endless desire to try something new!! I have to stop being such a spaz and wrap up some of these things before they take over the city!!!

The Giant Sweater!
I have neglected my blog for such a long time! I am currently making a cardigan for my very tall husband. I am using a natural fisherman's wool. I must admit, I am so impatient with large projects like this! I prefer instant gratification! I have to have this sucker done by Christmas..so wish me luck! So far I have competed the back and part of one front panel. Jeesh! LOL. K
